Vintage old wood antique tube radio PHILCO Mdl 40-124 A Real Beauty

This is the 1940 Philco 5 tube radio and it is gorgeous. This is the popular model 40-124. The size is 12.5" long x 8" tall x 6.5 deep. The cabinet is in beautiful condition and I just refinished it. There are very nice Walnut/Maple veneers. Nice dark colors and plenty of wood grains throughout. The dial face is very good and the two sided pointer works excellent. There are rounded corners and a very nice speaker grill. The three "Bullet" style knobs have been cleaned and resealed.

A built in factory installed "Loop" antenna receives stations very well across the dial. Also there are 6 functional push buttons and they have been polished and resealed. There is a new dial cover, two new dial lamp, new AC Power cord, and new Filter/Audio capacitors installed. The tubes have been tested and the remaining components were checked & replaced if needed. This is a wonderful example of the American Radio Industry waiting for you to display in your favorite place in the home or office.

The radio plays and receives stations excellent with the built in "Loop" antenna. The speaker is in excellent condition and has very good volume, tone, and clarity. These models are excellent players and great lookers! Thank you very much for stopping in! Note: the last push button MUST be pushed in to allow for use of the Tuning knob to surf the dial.
