Vintage Metal Tin Clad Fire Door Industrial Rolling Door, Over 100 Years Old
This vintage fire door by the Richmond Safety Gate Co is a treated wood door clad with metal and was built to withstand hours of potential fire spread. This door is all original with a century's worth of character. The top of the door is offset because the door was meant to roll down a track and slam shut using gravity when tripped. The rolling hardware was mounted with one side higher than the other to make that happen. It was salvaged from the historic American Electric building in St. Joseph, Missouri, which went up in 1892. 89" tall on one side, 86" tall on the other. If you live in the midwest I may be able to deliver it. We specialize in vintage lighting and architectural salvage.
