TUFTY' LARGE OLD 20 ANTIQUE GERMAN STEIFF BEAR, c. Late 1940s - 1950S, VINTAGE.
TUFTY' LARGE 20' OLD STEIFF BEAR c. Tufty is a wonderful large old Steiff bear with much character and age charm. He stands at 20 (50cm) He was probably made not long after the end of WW2 as a late 40s-early 50s bear.
He has a very old, early look to him with the slim body and lean shape. He has glass eyes, and his felt paw pads are professionally done replacements with some age wear, but no holes. His nose stitching has some added stitches, he has a few missing or broken claw threads. You can see he is a bear who has been absolutely loved and treasured.
He has overall age wear to his mohair but he is still a very strong bear and from a non-smoking home. His tilt growler no longer works. He has a little age staining to the fabric around his nose.If you love your old Steiff bears with masses of old Steiff bear personality, then he is one for you. Are an eclectic mix of collectables. Some vintage, most rare, some antique, often unique. This means that many are pre-used, and may have wear and/or signs of use commensurate with their age.
We take pride in clear pictures and honest descriptions, including mentioning any damage or noteworthy "wear and tear" that we see.
