60"x77" Pair Antique French Double Doors w/30 Glass Lites. Antique, French, double doors salvaged from an home in Northeastern PA.

Each door is made of solid Douglas Fir or pine covered with 1/16 thick heartpine veneers. Please note that heartpine is the non-living, core of a pine tree, and not the soft, outer, living sap-wood.

Since it takes 30 years for a pine tree just to develop just 1 of heart stock it is rarer, harder, more durable, more insect & rot resistant, less susceptible to warping and twisting, and is much more valuable than the cheap, pine lumber that is commonly found at most hardware stores. The doors retain their original stain and finish.

Together, the pair boast an impressive arrangement of. All of the glass is old, original, wavy glass, but since the doors are not from the early 1900's or before, the glass is only slightly wavy. The images reflected in the glass are bent and distorted, but not to the extent that it looks like a reflection from a fun-house-mirror. The doors are not equipped with any hardware.

The width of both doors and the height of one of the doors were unevenly cut at some point, most likely to accommodate for a settling foundation or warped floor. Condition : Considering their age, these doors are in great, structural condition.

Have the typical nicks and scratches, and small nail holes that you would expect to find on old, used doors. Will be sand-out and what remains will be covered by paint or stain, and only appear as character marks. There is some broken or water-damaged veneer (see close up photos). But no warp, rot, or other serious breaks or cracks. One piece of glass that has a small, hard-to-notice-crack in its corner.

The rest of the glass is intact with subtle scratches; no breaks, spalls, or cracks. The doors are strong, sturdy, and after some veneer-work, they'll be ready for another lifetime of service. We could refinish, repaint, or partially or completely strip the doors to prepare any of them for you to repaint or refinish. We have numerous photos of doors that we've repaired and refinished over the years for you to see.

We could also modify these doors to fit your opening or suite your needs. We could make a frame, trim or add to the height or width, make molding, reverse the swing, plug the hardware holes, etc. (Door w/lockset holes) 29 1/2 " - 30" x 77 3/8 " - 77 5/8 " x 1 3/8. (Door w/strike plate mortise) 29 3/4 " - 30" x 77 5/8 " x 1 3/8 ".
