The keys and rings are made from Nickel Silver. This flute has been stamped on the head and left hand section (see photos 7-8).
The stamp on the left hand section reads G. BUTLER & SONS, 29 HAYMARKET, LONDON, AND DUBLIN. " Some of the longer keys bear the initials "H. This large holed flute plays for me at A = 440 Hz. With a slide extension of 10 mm. Intonation is good for a period instrument, with the A and B needing slight lipping down. I find it plays at its optimum with the head slightly turned out a few degrees.This flute is easy to hold and finger, and plays with a bright and reedy tone.
