Vtg 1930's Glamorous Old Hollywood Black Satin Long DRESS Formal Evening GOWN
This is a gorgeous 1930's e. Vening gown in the Old Hollywood style. The sleeves are very detailed, they are a raglan style with 12 pink tucks running.
Horizontally across the neckline front and back. There is a pretty piece insert detail. Where the front and back of the bodice meet. The high waist in front curves down to the sides and is straight across the back.
The matching belt with rhinestone buckle is beautiful. It's in excellent condition. It is pinned on one end for some adjustment. The hips are fitted and the skirt starts to flare about mid thigh.A classic detail for this time frame. The fabric is cut on the bias for fabulous drape. The dress has a side opening that closes with snaps and hook and eyes. (one snap is missing a piece).
It's black liquid satin, high quality rayon and a medium weight. Dress is in excellent condition.
No stains, holes, snags, odors, etc. There is a dusty spot here and there on the hem. But they wipe off with a damp cloth. I didn't get all of that off. It appears this was worn once for a special occasion and that was it.
The dress is on a size 2-4 dress form. The hip area fits perfect. The bodice was too large and I did pin it under the arms. Please check measurements to confirm the fit. Bust: 37" 18" across the back, 19 across the front.
Length from shoulder to waist: 17. Distance around at hem: 115. Belt: 28 3/4 around - adjustable.
