UNUSUAL Old Antique Early 1910s JIM THORPE Style VINTAGE Leather Football Helmet

This particular UNUSUAL front cross strap DOG EAR style helmet is very rare and obscure and tough to find the entire helmet is intact and complete and in great shape considering its age and being clos to 105-110 years old Wow see a close up photo of Jim Thorpe wearing a similar style helmet from years ago - very cool and rare antique football helmet! , stand included with the circa 1910's antique beaut as well (see 2nd photo). As the photos show, this is a great looking helmet! It has a few gridiron battle scars and light signs of wear and usage but no major damage (see all photos). The leather has held up strong over the years and has many ventilation holes through out the exterior thick leather panels; Both of the front inner elastic straps are present and in great shape!

The thick wool interior of the helmet has light surface wear and has the small leather interior connector complete and attached, very fine stitching throughout. These very old antique football helmets are extremely scarce and date to the very early 1900s.

Adult size vintage DOG ear helmet (measures to size 7 to 7 1/4 and has the front UNUSUAL expanding forehead piece WITH LEATHER middle connector and style which would allow for different size heads to fit snugly into these old battle field weapons).

Included with the old ball helmet is the canvas chin strap Not sure this is original to the helmet, but is sewn on. The old beaut is 100-105 plus years old plus leather helmet is very thick and has wool lining fully intact and fully affixed into the interior as well - very very nice overall craftsmanship and display item and would make a super AWESOME addition to any sports collection or sports fan - cool antique (please see several photos for a better overall visual description). The leather is very clean and solid. The exterior leather cross straps ARE TIGHTLY stitched and complete with a factory ventilation hole punched into the crossing top - each top panel has ventilation holes throughout. It has a great shine and an awesome look!

It has it's beautiful patina and is 100% worn original (see close-ups)! The interior of the helmet is in SUPER nice shape & condition as well and as noted and described. This old DOG EAR Circa football helmet would look sweet displayed as photo'd!
